It was just wonderful to hear her voice once again! More fearless then ever, more convinced that she can make a difference, even if she still is unsure of who she is, and who she can become. And the chemistry between them..I was feeling it with them 😀!! Please Send more like this!!👌❤️
Hi! First off, I am a HUGE FAN of Divergent! This email is so cool to see and understand how Tris’s story could have played out. When I read, I love to think about what the alternative of a plot and how it may have ended. This is something I never would have imagined, but I love it!! I think it highlights Tris’s brilliance and difference to the society she was raised in, as well as added some extra details and insight to Tris and Four’s relationship and what is could have looked like! I love reading these types of things, whether fanfics or deleted scenes.
I love to write and I think this just shows how a world and characters create can have so many different backstories and plot!
Yes, I think it's important for any writer to understand that when they make choices, they're also NOT making a whole other set of choices-- because you want to be deliberate about the decisions you're making, but also because envisioning other paths forward is a huge part of the revising process.
I'm really glad you enjoyed this and that it got your writer gears churning!
I loved this so much! I missed this world and anytime you want to explore in this way, I will read it! I’ve always loved your writing and reading things that haven’t happened in the world, but can exist in this format is so fun and allows for you to play with these characters in a “no pressure” situation which I love! I will definitely read more if you decide to send some snippets out in your newsletters! :)
I was a huge fan of the divergent books in middle/high school. Somehow this story took me right back to those times, and I love it just the same. It was really fun to see how you included little points from Divergent, like Edward. If you continue with this story I’d love to hear more about him too. 🖤
Absolutely loved this! I just read the divergent series for the first time (took under 1 week 😬) and these books were truly beautiful. I loved every moment. Since finishing them all I’ve wanted was to know more and read more from that world. Thank you for sharing this little experiment. 🤍
Thank you so much for writing this! It’s always really interesting to consider how one single choice made differently could potentially alter the entire storyline. You could then spend days subsequently thinking about all the other little details that would be changed in turn.
As a side note, I also wanted to say that I absolutely adored your latest work on “When Among Crows.” I honestly could not get enough of it. If you ever decide to do a similar set of alternative scenarios for this as well (or possibly a sequel even? 👀), then I would be thrilled to read it!!
Thank you! and I'm so glad you enjoyed WAC-- I am actually writing a sequel! I just finished the rough draft, so it'll be a minute, but rest assured: there will be more in that world. :)
I'm in love with this new version,I wonder if you're thinking of a new book in the same univers, and about this paragraph....I love the way you recreat a new beginning for all the characters,I JUST LOVE IT

Thank you! And yes, it was pretty great to hear her voice in MY head as well. It's been awhile!
Omg I loved this version! Such a different spin, yet the themes of the Divergent books are still there😍
I'm glad you liked it!

Please write more! I loved this version of Tris and can see how, eventually, it could merge in with the original story.
I would devour every version of this story you write, Divergent is one of the books that got me into reading ❤️

Yes, there's something nice about the newsletter as a zero pressure environment to do some creative experimentation! And I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

I love this new version so much. I desperately wish you were planning on turning this into a new book.
